Trademark Application for “Jurassic World: Aftermath” Game Filed by Universal Studios
About 20 years ago, before the era of online-gaming boomed, our nearby DVD stores contained a hand-full collection of video games featuring our most favourite characters like Mario, Sonic, Pitfall, Street Fighter, amongst many others. At that time, as soon as a superhero or comic-fan fiction movie hit up the theatres, we would find ourselves fishing around the plentiful shelves of a video store in search of our desired game. From Alice in Wonderland and the Chronicles of Narnia to the Batman series along with Transformers and Top Gun, these movie tie-up video games always held attention of gamers all around the world. Now that entertainment sources are doubled, the aggregate of gamers is less as compared to those in the golden days. Recently, the mega-theme parks giant, Universal Studios has filed an application for trademark registration of newest version of our classic favourite “Jurassic World: Aftermath” game.
Other than its dream-like theme parks and phenomenal feature films which can make even an 80-year old nostalgic, Universal Studios has always amazed us with its ever-launching surreal video games. This time, the 108-year old California-based studio has decided to launch a new game named, “Jurassic World: Aftermath”.
The application for the same was filed before the United States Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO) on April 14th under the description, “Recorded interactive multi-media software for playing games; downloadable interactive multi-media software for playing games; downloadable software in the nature of a mobile application for playing games and accessing entertainment content for use with computers, portable handheld digital electronic communication devices, mobile devices, wired and wireless communication devices, and video game consoles; recorded computer game software for wireless and electronic mobile devices, mobile phones, hand-held electronic devices, and video game consoles; downloadable computer game software for wireless and electronic mobile devices, mobile phones, hand-held electronic devices, and video game consoles; computer game discs; video game discs; wireless communication devices and wireless communication systems comprised of computer hardware and recorded software for the transmission of audio, voice, and images; recorded computer virtual reality game software; downloadable virtual reality game software.”
As can be adduced, the applicant has tried to make the application as broad as possible trying to cover all mediums on which the game can be launched. Moreover, an official domain has also been registered for the same, which is yet to be announced.
The “Aftermath” element of the name has persuaded everyone into thinking that this one might be the next as well as the final part of the classic series after the 2018 launch ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ movie. In point of fact, Jurassic World Evolution which sold over 2 million copies was the most-recent video of the sequel.
